How Can red Patches On The Corner Of The Eye  be Treated?

I have a red patch in the outside corner of my right eye. I get them periodically but this time it is irritating and burns sometimes or feels like there is something there. I just checked it and the bottom of my eyeball is red and it looks bloody under my lower lid. I had several floaters in that eye 5 days ago..I have a small one most of the time but there were some large ones. They eventually went away after a few hours. I also have a lens in that eye from cataract surgery.
